Life Story for Mark Veltman

SCHENECTADY—Mark Edward Veltman, 67, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2016 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Mark was born in Albany, the eldest son and the second of nine children born to Alice (Eckman) and the late Charles Veltman. He retired from the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles where he worked as a Senior Computer Program Analyst for many years. He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a brilliant man with a thirst for knowledge and a passion for reading. He was an avid outdoorsman and fly fisherman. He was unbelievably loved.
He was predeceased by his father, Chuck, and his brother, Kevin.
Survivors include his loving wife of 35 years, Sharon Veltman; devoted daughter, Erin Veltman; his beautiful mother, Alice; seven cherished siblings; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and wonderful friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, August 10, at 5:30PM at the Ferrari Funeral Home, 1503 Union Street (at McClellan St. in Jones Funeral Home). Relatives and friends are invited and may also visit with Mark’s family at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5:00PM until the time of the service.
